Nattiq Technologies Wins a Contract in Tunis

Nattiq Technologies announced today that it has won a contract in Tunis with the help of its local affiliate InternationalBusiness Center, IBC. The purpose of the project is to provide access to information technology to users with special needs. Nattiq will deliver DolphinSupernova 6.50 screen reader software which will be installed in thirty centers throughout Tunis. Training will be provided by Nattiq’s local affiliate.Blind and visually-impaired Tunisians will be able to have access to computers through Supernova 6.50 which integrates three functionalities in one package.Synthesized speech, Braille output and screen magnification are conveniently delivered with simple key presses. The Tunisian Ministry of Social Affairssupported by World Bank will implement the project equipping 30 information technology centers throughout Tunis with assistive technology equipment. TheMinistry will demonstrate Supernova 6.50 to visiting delegations during the upcoming World Summit on the Information Society, WSIS to be held from 14 to16 of November, 2005. The demonstration will be carried out throughout the Summit in the National Technology Compound in Alghazala in the capital.“We are pleased with the success achieved by Supernova screen reader in the Middle East. Blind and visually-impaired users throughout Tunis will be ableto advance their IT literacy with this powerful tool ”, said Auda Hazeem, CEO of Nattiq Technologies. Nattiq insured the integration of French and Arabicsynthetic speech with automatic switching between the two languages to meet the requirements of users in Tunis.
